trying to teach myself how to let go of my attachments on this earth. This inflated fear of losing these attachments which I've always held too close is one of the biggest things holding me back from so much more, i'm afraid.

I've been developing the 20+ rolls of film I took during my trip. It's difficult to control the wave of tears that come to me when i look at them. i miss Ireland and Scotland so much. I miss the pubs, the people, the singing and dancing. I miss laying in the grass with my sister, the two of us silently tying flowers together for three hours, only to throw the crowns we made off the grand cliffs. Packing croissants and cheese in totes and hiking through boggy terrain to climb to the very top of a mountain, just so we can stand under a waterfall and laugh with chattering teeth. Our breath shallow and our legs trembling from exhaustion - finally reaching the top, we stood in amazement as we couldn't see a thing for our heads being among the fog and clouds.

Oh, I shall return soon and for a much longer amount of time.

I recently discovered the breathtaking work of Cendrine Rovini. Truly truly, it is rare that I come across an artist whose work leaves me both speechless and tingling with emotion the way hers does. I thought I would share one my new favorite artists with all of you. I hope you enjoy her work as much as I do!

My mom has been doing some aided research of our family's ancestry. She called to tell me that some of our relatives had been the most notorious horse thieves of the century; the entire family - mother, father, daughters and sons, shooting down sheriffs and civilians who crossed paths with them. Later, my father told me we were descendants of Constantine. He did not mention the horse thieving massacre. I guess he didn't feel it was as important as she did. I couldn't help but grin that my mother's love of a good dramatic story outweighed the significance of what some might find to be a truly amazing discovery. It's one of my favorite things about her, really.
